Fire Safety

Fire Prevention Week
Thank youOctober is Fire Prevention Week. Each year, staff at Stevenson Elementary teach children ways to stay safe at home: have a smoke detector, have an escape plan, don't play with matches, and "stop, drop and roll". Students also have an opportunity to participate in a poster contest and a few of the artists are delivered to school by one of our local fire departments! After the children are delivered to school, the volunteer fire fighters stay to kick the day off with an assembly. During today's assembly, not only did the children learn about preventing fires and staying safe, the students had an opportunity to say "THANK YOU!"
